Concept
The meal menu can be broadly divided into “courses” and “tempura bowl”.
In the course, the tempura is freshly fried and seasoned to match the tempura.
You can also enjoy several performances by the artisans together.
Courses, or to not take up too much of your time during your trip, are often served with freshly fried tempura in about 60 minutes.
Tempura bowl, on the other hand, is served in a style that allows you to enjoy the changing flavors on your own.
First with the sauce and tempura, then with condiments such as nori and wasabi, and finally with dashi chazuke, enjoy the changes.
Characteristics of our restaurant
Commitment to Tempura.
The meals are completely gluten-free, using no wheat flour at all.
By using rice flour instead of wheat, we create a crispy tempura with a light texture unlike any other.
In addition, a special frying method allows the batter to absorb only half the amount of oil it normally does. This makes it a very healthy and tasty special tempura. The oil is vegetable oil made from a proprietary blend of aromatic white sesame oil and rapeseed oil.
You can also rest assured that all meals served at our restaurant are Halal (Muslim friendly) as well.
*Halal certification pending (to be obtained in August 2024)
Philosophy
In Japan, there is a culture of “Hanami” in which everyone gathers under the cherry trees in spring to eat and drink.
At Tempura Asakusa SAKURA, we want to be a restaurant that offers the culture of Hanami all year round.
We hope to provide such “delicious” and “enjoyable” moments.
We hope to provide everyone who comes to Tempura Asakusa SAKURA with an enjoyable time that will remain in their memories. That is our highest wish.
We hope you will enjoy a memorable moment with a delicious meal and pleasant conversation.

Staff was efficient and friendly. They spoke great English. The food was cooked right in front of us and was presented nicely. One of us is gluten free and the flour is rice flour. An authentic restaurant with beautiful decorations. Staff are very nice and friendly. Tempura are made freshly after you order. The food is fantastic. They are fresh and with perfect layer of batter. You may ask the staff to pour some dashi-tea into your rice and it will make the rice with different flavour. It is worth to come!
