In this collaboration, after enjoying a meal at Tempura Asakusa SAKURA, a rickshaw puller will pick up the guests and escort them to the rickshaw.

Guests can then enjoy a tour of Asakusa’s famous spots.

Along the way, they will be treated to a special dessert recommended by the knowledgeable rickshaw puller, providing a unique sightseeing experience.

Overall Number of Inbound Foreign Tourists

   In April 2024, the number of inbound foreign tourists to Japan reached approximately 3 million.

This represents a 69.5% increase compared to the same month last year and an 11.7% increase compared to 2019 (Figure 1).

Spending Amount

   From January to March 2024, the spending amount by inbound foreign tourists reached approximately 1.83 trillion yen.

The trend of spending has shifted from the pre-COVID-19 “explosive shopping” mainly by Chinese tourists to a more diversified and experience-oriented consumption post-COVID-19.

Inbound Situation in Asakusa

   Asakusa attracts many foreign tourists as a famous sightseeing spot in Tokyo.

Popular spots include the Tokyo Skytree and Sensoji Temple.

Although specific numbers are not disclosed, it is reported that many of the foreign tourists visiting Tokyo also visit Asakusa.

Reservation Methods and Fees for the Service

  2. Select the “Rickshaw Pickup Service” option during reservation or inform the staff upon arrival at Tempura Asakusa SAKURA.
  3. The rickshaw fee is 7,000 yen for one person for 30 minutes, and 9,000 yen for two people.
