Finding Truly Delicious Halal (Muslim-Friendly) Food Restaurants in Tokyo!

Hello, this is Tina from Tempura Asakusa SAKURA.

I am an Indonesian Muslim and have been living in Japan for several years.

To help many Muslim travelers visiting Japan enjoy delicious meals without any worries, I would like to introduce the Halal food situation in Japan and the features of our restaurant.

1. Is It Difficult to Find Halal (Muslim-Friendly) food Restaurants in Japan?

In Japan, restaurants that offer Halal food are still quite limited. The percentage of Muslims in Japan is only about 0.2%, so Halal-certified restaurants are very rare.

Finding Halal (Muslim-friendly) restaurants just by walking around is quite challenging.

Therefore, it is very important for Muslim travelers to do some research before coming to Tokyo to ensure they can enjoy their meals safely.

By researching Halal food-friendly restaurants in advance, travelers can reduce worries about meals during their trip in Japan, where the language and culture differ.

Using guides and websites specifically for Muslims, as well as social media, can be very helpful.

2. How to Find Halal (Muslim-Friendly) food Restaurants in Japan?

Many Muslim travelers use Google search and Google Maps to find Halal (Muslim-friendly) restaurants.

Searching with keywords like “Halal restaurant Tokyo” or “Muslim-friendly restaurant Asakusa” helps find Halal-friendly restaurants in the area.

Apps and websites like Halal Navi and Halal Gourmet Japan are also very useful for finding Halal (Muslim-friendly) restaurants in Japan, and many Muslim travelers rely on them.

3. Where to Eat Halal (Muslim-Friendly) Wagyu and Tempura in Tokyo?

Japanese cuisine is popular worldwide, especially among inbound tourists, with sushi, Wagyu beef, ramen, and tempura being favorites.

Naturally, you want to enjoy authentic and delicious Japanese food while in Japan!

However, Halal-certified tempura and ramen shops are particularly limited. For those who want to enjoy Halal Wagyu and tempura in Tokyo, we recommend our restaurant, Tempura Asakusa SAKURA. Asakusa has many tourist spots, making it convenient to visit during sightseeing.

6. Reviews from Muslim Travelers

Reading actual reviews, you will see that not only Muslim travelers but also Japanese people who regularly eat tempura have left many positive comments. Many say it is the best tempura they have ever had, praising the freshness and quality of the ingredients and the excellent service. It is truly remarkable to receive such high praise from Japanese customers!

I feel a great sense of fulfillment in my work whenever I read comments about my service. Here are some secrets behind these positive reviews.

For example, we use the highest quality marbled A5 Wagyu sirloin and live tiger prawns (many tempura restaurants use frozen shrimp) to ensure freshness and high quality. The tempura batter is gluten-free, made from rice flour, ensuring safety for many customers. The tempura is then fried in a blend of vegetable oils, including white sesame and canola oils.

Additionally, we use a special fryer that emits electromagnetic waves to fry our tempura. This method reduces oil absorption by 40% compared to conventional frying, resulting in crispy, light, low-calorie, and healthy tempura (amazing!).
